Your first indoor plant: choosing and caring for it
You do not need a whole collection. One plant, chosen for the right spot, is a lovely place to start.
Choose for your home
Start with the available light and the space where your plant will grow. If you have pets, check the species before buying and choose a place where leaves and soil will not be chewed.
Give it time to settle in
After arrival, observe your plant and check the potting mix. Avoid changing everything at once or repotting simply because you have bought a decorative pot. It can hold the nursery pot, with room for drainage.
A small, regular routine
Set aside a few minutes to check the leaves, soil and new growth. Remove dust gently, look for pests and adjust care to the species and season.
